Metodele de screening genetic practicate în perioada sarcinii, repartizate diferit în cele trei trimeste, pun în evidență cu precizie momentul în care au intervenit diferiți factori teratogeni.
Având în vedere că în timpul sarcinii pot apărea afecțiuni ce necesită tratament stomatologic de urgență, medicului stomatolog îi revin sarcina dar și responsabilitatea ca prin instituirea și realizarea planului de tratament să ia toate măsurile necesare pentru a nu modifica cursul normal al sarcinii.
